I think many will agree with me when I say that cleaning the bathroom is the least fun room to scrub away in, compared to all the other places in the house. But as annoying as it may be you cannot escape from cleaning the toilet. It has got to be done and nothing screams a clean home quite like a pristine bathing area. However, if you want to get the job done well, you should probably avoid these very common cleaning mistakes:
1. Don’t forget the little things
Think of all the places that’s been touched by all the hands living in the house, like the faucets and handles. They need cleaning and they need it done regularly too. You can wash the gunk of the shower shelves and clean your toothbrush holder but you might want to throw a loofah out if you’ve had it for a while.
2. Give everything a home
Even if you bathroom is spotless, a messy vanity area will still make this particular space an unsightly one. Give everything its proper place and organize even the smallest of things to make your bathroom look attractive. The bottles that your favourite hand wash comes in might not be the prettiest thing ever so, why not buy a set of matching bathroom organizers?
3. Don’t forget the “hidden” parts of a toilet
Sure, when cleaning the bathroom it’s very unlikely that you will forget to scrub the toilet seat but what about the base? It’s a common mistake to make and keep in mind that the base can also get all dusty and germy. While you’re at it, don’t forget the tank as well as the lid, and remind yourself to disinfect the toilet handle.
4. Let the toilet brush breathe
When you’re done with the toilet brush and it’s all wet, all you want to do is plunk it back into its holder. But that creates a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria and germs, so instead of putting a still-wet brush back in its place, leave to dry completely. Also, spray the holder with a lot of antibacterial cleaner and wipe it dry after rinsing it.
5. Use more than one product
If you think it’s going to work by using one product to clean everything in the bathroom, you better think again. Each surface of the bathroom deserves its own product so that a thorough cleaning-job can be done.
