“4minute” is a popular South Korean girl group (Nam Jihyun, Heo Gayoon, Jeon Jiyoon, Kim Hyuna and Kwon SoHyun) founded by Cube Entertainment in 2009. The girls released their first single on the 15th of June 2009 and made their debut stage performance a few days later on “Mnet M! Countdown”. Since then, they have gone on to produce multiple EPs and digital singles, as well as one studio album, “4minutes Left”.
As a matter of fact, “4minute” once successfully dethroned Britney Spears’ “Till the World End” in the number 1 spot of Europa’s “HIT INT’L VIDEOS TOP 20”. They also have also gone on to record a remix with American artist Amerie for her song “Heard ‘Em All” in 2009.
Isn’t that something?
But our focus isn’t entirely concentrated on “4minute” alone. Throughout the past two months, one girl from the pop group has caught the attention of K-pop lovers around the region, keeping everyone’s eyes glued to YouTube.
Previously a member of another South Korean girl group, the “Wonder Girls”, 19-year-old Kim Hyuna (affectionately known as Hyuna) graduated from the Korea High School of Music and Arts. She once performed solo during a “Wonder Girls” showcase, flaunting her dancing skills. But, in late July 2007, she was withdrawn from the group by her parents due to health issues, involving chronic gastroenteritis and fainting spells.
Two years later, in 2009, Hyuna returns to the music industry with a burst of smiles and an extra bounce in her step when she was signed on by Cube Entertainment as a member of “4minutes”. And on the 5th of July 2011, Hyuna released a solo mini album, “Bubble Pop!”. Merely five days after the official release of the “Bubble Pop” music video, it received a whopping 1 million views per day!
Here’s why:
Nope. Not suggestive at all, that video! But one thing’s for sure, Hyuna has made it look so easy to dance, wiggle, jiggle, and bump. And really, that’s nowhere close to the truth. With a little bit of research, we found her exhaustive “Bubble Pop!” training video.
Watch:
Familiar? Does she not already remind you of a cross between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during their heydays of being at the top of the music charts? Let’s face it. Hyuna is one artist every girl would love to hate. But hey, you can’t fault her for talent and her sultry good looks, on top of the ways she busts a move!
