In conjunction with the year-end holidays, Sunway Lagoon has a special treat in store for everyone and unlike the past years’ musicals, this year’s performance is the much anticipated LumiAir – A Cirque Extraordinaire.
LumiAir will be held for the first time in Malaysia and this Australian production can be compared to the likes of Cirque du Soleil if you are well-acquainted with the franchise. The show’s grand cirque style sequences and spectacular tricks in the air along with amazing acrobatic ballet scenes will truly be a treat for the audience. LumiAir follows the journey of a girl named Diamond who escapes a world of darkness in search of light and self-discovery. Check out the trailer here:
“This strategic partnership between Sunway Lagoon and LumiAir comes at no better time, commemorating Sunway Group’s 40th anniversary, and would also see one of Malaysia’s beloved theme parks play home to a one-of-a-kind extravaganza, certainly living up to its billing of being Asia’s one-stop fun destination. LumiAir would be a wonderful way to cap 2014 as a much exciting year for us at Sunway Group, as we look forward to bigger and exciting adventures to come this way in 2015,” said Mr. HC Chan, CEO of Sunway Shopping Malls and Theme Parks at the behind-the-scenes session with the cast and crew.
“This is our first ever collaboration with Sunway Lagoon and it is an exciting time for us as we will be performing on the stage for the very first time in Malaysia. As Sunway Lagoon is located in the heart of the city which attracts both local and international visitors, we believe that this partnership will be a great success together,” shared Susan Porrett, Producer and Director of LumiAir.
LumiAir is a two-hour production that all ages will be able to enjoy. Its talented cast of cirque characters, beautiful dancers, brilliant costumes and stunning is definitely something not to be missed. Produced by Susan Porett who has 20 years of experience in live shows and theatre, revealed to those present at the press conference yesterday that LumiAir is essentially a story out of her journal – the mother of triplets left home at a young age to join the circus!
The production is choreographed by the current World Aerobics champion, Anthony Ikin, whose resume includes being a soloist at Moulin Rouge in Paris and as consultant choreographer for Gymnastics Australia.
