No theme park in Asia does Halloween quite like Hong Kong’s Ocean Park. If you’ve read our terrifying Halloween experience in Ocean Park last month, we hope you have the guts to stomach what we’re about to present you.
Providing patrons with a complete Halloween experience is what Ocean Park strives for and this year, patrons can savour a Halloween-themed dinner after being spooked by the multitude of attractions this endless park has to offer.
As pictures are worth a thousand words, let us take you through what creepy dishes we ate after screaming our lungs out for the day. To end our Hong Kong trip with a bang, we dined at Neptune’s Restaurant where you can complete your Ocean Park Halloween experience with a four course dinner menu.
First, we were served the appetizer, a roasted chicken salad that was presented in a cucumber carved to look like a coffin.
Next, an onion soup was served and the Halloween element came in the form of a floating corpse made out of flat bread.
For the main course, patrons can choose between the beef lasagne or grilled salmon. I went with the grilled salmon.
The fourth and final dish was of course dessert but it truly was the best interpretation of bringing creepy to one’s plate. The entire dessert was an urn with joss sticks to resemble a Chinese ancestral worship ritual. It was extremely creative and tasted amazing.
Besides the four course dinner menu, there’s also a selection of dishes just for kids.
Another highlight of Neptune’s is the restaurant’s aquarium. Here, it’s like dining under the sea with sharks, manta rays and all sorts of underwater world creatures.
However, if sharks and manta rays are not your thing, be sure to check out Ocean Park’s other restaurant, Tuxedos where you can dine with penguins!
A huge thank you goes out to the hospitable, friendly and fabulous team at Ocean Park for hosting us! If you’re looking for a frighteningly unforgettable Halloween experience, Ocean Park’s Halloween Fest starts from 2 October – 31 October 2014. Visit www.oceanpark.com.hk for further details.
