Founded in 2004, Nailympia is a competition for all nail artists across the globe to show off their skills. It takes place at different locations every year and this year, it has taken place in London.
There are several categories to the contest, such as the French manicure and 3D sculpture. There is also a fantasy category and the participants are urged to be as imaginative as possible.
The participants would bring stick-on nails that they have perfectly crafted from home and they would be allowed hours to carefully assemble any finishing touches to the nails or outfit of their models. Some even build backdrops for the nails to be worn on the model’s arms.
Well, the goal is to tell a story from head to fingertip, and the best design overall wins.
This is extremely creative, intriguing and bizarre in a good way, but let’s be real here. How is someone supposed to use their hands with those nails on?
