Aspiring film makers, listen up!
Sundance Channel and Astro will launch a first-ever competition of its kind that gives a chance to Malaysian fans to submit short films to be showcased on the network. Films submitted by the top three finalists will premiere on Sundance Channel HD (CH438) in 2015 and will be screened at an exclusive event in Kuala Lumpur in December.
Starting 29th September, fans will be able to submit their short films on the official website till 23rd November 2014. The films must be submitted by the producer or director who can provide proof of residency in Malaysia. Films should also be no longer than 12 minutes and must have never been shown on Malaysian television.
Submissions should meet Sundance Channel and Astro’s technical requirements which are available on the website together with an explanatory video, detailing everything including tips. Additional information will be tweeted with the hashtag #SCShorts.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip to the prestigious 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah with exclusive access to screenings, panels, events and the awards ceremony. The trip will include airfare and hotel accommodation for two people for 3 nights. The two runners up will receive professional digital cameras.

Entries will be judged on several criteria, including creativity, entertainment value, original storytelling and production value. The jury members will include representatives from the Sundance Channel, Astro and the film-making community. Finalists will be announced on 7th December 2014.
