The previous time, I shared with you about the Clarisonic Mia 2 Deep Pore Decongesting Solution Kit, how my skin is like, how I personally use the kit and the effects the Clarisonic has had on my skin after I first started using the popular skincare tool. As I’ve previously mentioned, this rechargeable tool uses the miracle of sonic technology to efficiently reduce the size of pores and transform the skin from within, leaving it flawless, radiant and smooth. Oscillating at over 300 movements per second, the brush works wonders to deep cleanse and exfoliate the skin, removing sebum, dirt, debris and all the remnants of makeup left on your skin after a long day.
I’ve already introduced you to the kit, which consists of the Clarisonic Mia 2 with a Deep Pore brush head attached, the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and the Deep Pore Decongesting Clay Mask. Now, let’s take a closer look into Clarisonic’s two-step dual action solution and how this would help you get the best out of your kit.
The first step in this dual action solution would be cleansing and refining the skin. With the powerful combination of the Deep Pore brush head and the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser, the sonic fluid forces and the cleanser works together to penetrate deep into your pores to get rid of all the impurities that could possibly harm or irritate your skin.
Some of the main ingredients in the cleanser include Sebucon2 Complex which controls sebum production and clears the pores, Keratolytic Fruit Acids to hydrate the skin and peppermint to cleanse, purify and soothe the pores. Many other peppermint-based cleansers irritate my skin and leave it peeling, but this doesn’t do that and it is very subtle. For those with sensitive skin, don’t worry about it!
Aside from that, the second step would be to absorb and decongest. The Deep Pore Decongesting Clay Mask really does decongest the pores and leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean. If you’ve got large pores or the surface of your skin is damaged, you will notice an instant difference after putting this mask on.
The mask is made of natural botanical ingredients such as aloe vera gel, sugar cane extract, lemon fruit extract and sugar maple extract which removes dead skin cells and hydrate the skin, as well as kaolin and bentonite clay to detoxify the pores.
These two steps, together, has done wonders on my skin thus far and I cannot wait to share with you my thoughts on the kit after using it for two weeks. Find out more below!
Results After Week 2
Instead of using it daily, I’ve switched to using the Clarisonic only on alternate nights. I figured that this would give my skin time to return to its normal state before going in with the Clarisonic again so that it doesn’t feel over exfoliated and uncomfortable. On days when I don’t use the Clarisonic, I will cleanse my skin with the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber DeTox Foaming Cleanser. As for the Deep Pore Decongesting Clay Mask, I only use it once a week.
I’ve been using the Clarisonic for two weeks now and my skin tone has visibly improved! I have very pale skin so any redness would be very prominent. Prior to using the Clarisonic, there was a lot of redness around my nose and on my chin. Now, I’ve noticed that my skin tone is significantly more balanced and even.
I’ve read reviews online and some people have mentioned that their skin started purging out impurities trapped underneath when they first started using the Clarisonic. This didn’t happen on my skin and fortunately, it didn’t break me out. As you can see from the pictures, I did get a few hormonal pimples because it was that time of the month for me, but other than that, my skin is radiant and happy. Even though I have some spots going on, the area around those spots didn’t appear red and irritated. Yeay!
I had chicken pox when I was nine, and it has left two deep scars on my face – one on my left cheek and the other in between my brows. Those scars never went away and I’ve tried tons of products to get rid of them but to no avail. With the use of the Clarisonic, I’ve noticed an improvement on those scars. Even though it is working very slowly, I’m happy that I’ve found something that finally helps me with my scarring.
Aside from all that, my skin is really less oily now and I’m loving it! On some days, I wouldn’t powder my face to set my makeup so that my skin would have a dewy finish instead of being completely matte. Even without powdering my face, my skin doesn’t get very greasy midday. All I do is blot my face with tissue once and I’m good to go. 😉
Check back next Friday to find out more about my experience with the Clarisonic!
