It’s always heart-warming to see a fashion brand’s commitment to charity and in June this year, UNIQLO hosted a fun and unforgettable shopping experience for 20 students with special needs from Wisma Harapan Special School at their Mid Valley branch.
Each student were assigned a UNIQLO buddy to pick out their favourite UNIQLO outfits. The Japanese brand has always been committed to enriching people’s lives and aims to benefit society through the power of clothing. Sounds great doesn’t it?
Satoshi Onoguchi, Managing Director of UNIQLO (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and UNIQLO (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., said “We are glad and honoured to play our part in helping the students of Wisma Harapan to enrich their lives through this one of a kind shopping experience. As we commit ourselves to introduce the power of clothing to our surrounding communities, we look forward to working with more charitable organisations through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. ”
Margaret Thava, a coordinator from Wisma Harapan Special School added, “We are happy that UNIQLO has come forward to introduce our students to this unique shopping experience and provide them with an opportunity to have a fun day out. The students definitely had a good time learning and enjoyed their experience today.”
After picking out their favourite outfits, the fun continued with origami making and snacks and drinks were also served. Find out more about this initiative at www.uniqlo.com.my or go to UNIQLO’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/uniqlo.my.
