We all know Iggy, she recently made it big this year when her song “Fancy” with Charlie XCX and her collaboration with Ariana Grande, “Problem” both made it to the top of the charts. I, however have been a big fan of this Aussie rapper since the video of “Pu$$y” debuted on YouTube two years ago.
Recently Bijou Star TV asked T.I. if he was writing rhymes for his Grand Hustle Records artist, Miss Iggy Azalea. He responded by saying, “Iggy got her own ideas and thoughts that she presents to the world in her own way.”
What caused rumours that Iggy was using ghostwriters, specifically T.I, was when Nicki Minaj let the world know at the BET Awards that she writes her own rhymes. During her acceptance speech, the bootylicious rapper said, “”What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.”
Like a bunch of gossip queens, the internet quickly assumed that she was talking about Azalea. But T.I. clears the air by saying, that while some artists do get help “with hooks and certain things like that,” his artist raps her own rhymes.
“I couldn’t write a lot of the shit she say, you know? I couldn’t put her thoughts into words as articulate as she does. You know what I’m saying? She just has a different way of presenting herself and her art.”
