The Verrückt (which translates to insane in German), the world’s tallest water slide, has finally started testing with real, live humans and it looks absolutely terrifying.
Located in Kansas City, United States, Schlitterbahn water park has been delaying the big unveiling of their monster slide again and again, just to make sure that it is completely safe for the public.
The Verrückt is 168 feet and 7 inches tall. It is taller than the Statue of Liberty, which is only 151 feet, and the Niagara Falls. To get to the top of the 17-storey slide, you have to climb up 264 steps. Expect to hit speeds of up to 65 miles per hour on the slide and when you ride, you must be Velcro-strapped into a very large raft.
Before you decide to ride on this slide, remember that earlier testing during the construction of the Verrückt sent the entire freaking raft up in the air. Here’s the clip, if you weren’t already freaked out enough:
