A study has shown that women spend £100,352 (RM480, 686) on just makeup alone in a lifetime. That works up to about £40 (RM191) a week from when you turn sweet 16 until the day you hit 65 years of age.
Shocking!
Two thirds of the 2,200 polled said that it would cost them up to £550 (RM2, 634) to replenish their collection beauty products. One in ten of those polled admitted that theirs would cost £700 (RM3, 353). We have a feeling that these “one in ten” are probably the same ones who would go for an array of designer makeup and skincare (read: La Mer, Chanel, MAC).
But of course, women don’t only keep their beauty products at home. We’re not talking about bottles, jars, and tools lying around on their dresser or lined up along/spilling off their bathroom counter.
Most women carry a smaller makeup pouch/bag in their handbags for essential daily routine and touch-up items. These pouches/bags usually contain everything from eyedrops, lipgloss, eyeliners, foundations, pressed powders, lipsticks, concealers, lip balm, contact lens cases, so on and so forth. And guess what? The value of a female’s makeup bag alone costs a whopping £130 (RM622) on average.
So, you think beauty doesn’t come with a price? Yes it does! Even if it’s the most basic of all look-enhancing methods.
