Gwyneth Montenegro, one of Australia’s highest earning sex workers, slept with 10,000 men amidst a whirlwind lifestyle of lust, cocaine and champagne.

She describes herself as “a normal person at home down your street” and admits that what spiralled her into the sex industry was relentless bullying and low self-esteem.

She said,

At school I was bullied because I was very shy and introverted person — I was an easy target. I also had very low self-esteem at the time, so a combination of those two made me feel not too good about myself.

All I wanted to do was to make a lot of money, so then coupled with my low self esteem it naturally led me to the adult entertainment industry.

Her popularity enables her to make $2,000 per night from clients. While bringing in such ridiculous amounts of money, she lies to her parents and mentions that she made her small fortune from the modelling industry.

Montenegro’s usual clients were “white collar businessmen,” and 90% were married. She also doesn’t feel guilty about it because she thinks she saved their marriages.

She claims that men who get enough sex in a marriage don’t cheat, and their natural desire for sex does not disappear just because they get married to a woman who doesn’t want to get it on. She wanted to help these men fulfill their biological desires.

For 12 years, she slept with 10,091 men and recorded her experiences in a journal where she wrote everything down to help her cope, saying that this lifestyle wasn’t something she planned, but it quickly sucked her in.

Her wealthy clients also introduced her to cocaine and alcohol, and eventually led her to her “biggest high” in her early to mid-20s. Soon, she was indulging in drugs five times a week for six to eight months.

Montenegro then re-evaluated her life after being involved in a car crash and nearly lost her life. She then came clean to her parents.

After the car crash I realized we only live once and I’m just going to go for it and give it ago. I was able to give back to my parents for being so understanding — they could be proud of me for the first time.

She now works full-time as a commercial pilot and has written a book called “10,000 Men and Counting.” Despite the title, she’s not counting on any more men quite yet.

Maybe I might look for someone when I’m in my 40s, I’m not in a rush as if I’ve learned anything from my time as an escort I want to take every day as it comes — as that’s what life’s about.
