The 2014 BET Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on June 29 and brought out major star power on the red carpet. Surprisingly, most outfits on the red carpet were a flop or just alright, and it was tough for us to pick out our favourite looks. Whatever it is, here are our picks for the best and worst dressed celebs!
BEST DRESSED
1. Kenya Moore – We’re loving the coral colour of her gown! It’s glamorous and makes the actress’s skin colour pop.
2. Pia Mia – Looking sleek and stylish, we love everything about her outfit. From the white bandana, top with the plunging neckline to the dark lipstick, the singer-songwriter and actress looks mighty fine.
3. Ashanti – The singer stunned in a figure-hugging white gown that showed off her curves perfectly. We like the cut outs near the waist, the train and the slit at the front of the gown. On the other hand, that keyhole neckline revealed way too much of her boobs.
4. Amber Rose – Classy and sultry, Amber proves that you don’t have to reveal too much skin to look sexy.
5. Paris Hilton – The socialite’s white gown has interesting yet tasteful cut outs all over, and damn, she looks fierce on the red carpet!
6. Tiwa Savage – With the sheer fabric and floor-length skirt, this gown flatters Savage’s figure and the cute side fishtail braid just pulls the entire look together.
WORST DRESSED
1. Sevyn Streeter – The unflattering top and skirt with crazy high slits on both sides just doesn’t do the American singer-songwriter justice.
2. Erica Campbell – We like the simple idea of the gown, but the weird print and colour combo just looks out of place on the red carpet.
3. Laura Govan – Everything about her look is trashy and tacky. Poor Laura!
4. Nadia Buari – This outfit probably would work at some sort of theme party, but it’s definitely not made for the red carpet. We just don’t get it.
5. Faith Evans – Clearly, not much thought has been put into her look. The singer wears a dress coat over a black lace brassiere, paired with some bright blue pumps. Maybe it would have worked if the dress coat was more well-tailored and didn’t reveal this much of her big boobs.
6. Gabrielle Union – There’s nothing very wrong with the flowy gown, but really? Are those thigh-high boots necessary?
