Thailand will not be singing along to a live performance by Taylor Swift next month.
Unfortunately, the Grammy Award winner had to cancel her upcoming show in Bangkok due to the political unrest that the country is currently facing.
Swift was scheduled to appear for a sold-out show on June 9th, but concert promoter BEC-Tero posted on its website today that the event has been cancelled due to recent events in Thailand. It also added that “this has been a difficult decision for all parties. Taylor, AEG, BEC-Tero and 13 Management all express regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand.”
The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer also took to Twitter to address the matter. She wrote, “I’m sending my love the fans in Thailand. I’m so sad about the concert being cancelled.”
Swift’s concert in Thailand would have been her first visit to the country.
She is scheduled to perform in Shanghai on May 30th.
