In case you’re living under a rock, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got married in Italy over the weekend! Here’s all you need to know about the fabulous ceremony:
Before the nuptials, Kim’s friends and family stayed at a breathtaking and gorgeous villa at the Belmond Villa San Michele in Fiesole, a small town in the province of Florence. The 46-room villa, which features stunning antique furniture and beautiful views, is one of Europe’s most high-profile and fascinating hotels. We totally get why!
The beautiful parents to baby North West were married in a private ceremony in the presence of family and friends in Florence, Italy. The ceremony was held at the historic Forte di Belvedere, a 16th-century-era fortress on top of a hill near the Arno river, an exquisite and unforgettable setting for just about anyone who is looking to exchange vows.
Kim’s family was of course in attendance and her stepdad Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle.
Kris Jenner recently said that Kim and Kanye took care of the wedding planning themselves and sure enough, everything was beyond perfect.
Valentino hosted an intimate pre-wedding brunch for Kimye on Friday morning at his Château de Wideville, just outside of Paris. The Italian fashion icon’s guest list was limited to family members, Kim’s close friends and fashion-world fixture André Leon Talley.
Tons of guests then partied into the night on Friday at the Palace of Versailles that included horse-and-carriage arrivals, fireworks and a surprise performance by Lana Del Rey.
During the ceremony, Kanye West apparently gave a sweet 20-minute long wedding speech and it was the sweetest thing ever. He called his new bride the “ideal celebrity” and the “ideal art”, as well as gushed about spending “every day of my life with Kim”. Kanye also called the Kardashian family “the most remarkable people of our time” who can “make the world a better place”.
We knew that their wedding cake would be huge, but we certainly did not expect this! Kimye’s lavish wedding feast included a seven-metres tall cake, decorated with delicate gold leaves. Each sheet of gold costs around 50 euros and the total cost of the cake was close to 5,000 euros.
No weddings would be complete without wedding bands and Kimye’s were custom made by one of the most sought-after jewellers in the world, Lorraine Schwartz. We don’t have pictures as of now, but we’ll keep you updated!
Kim looked amazing in Givenchy Haute Couture for her big day and her makeup was flawless. It was natural-looking and enhanced all her facial features. As for her hair, she chose to wear it down to showcase her gorgeous length and we couldn’t be happier with her decision.
The newly married couple will be moving in to their $11 million dream Bel-Air mansion soon. Kimye’s future home would be featuring a sprawling staircase, large windows, an elevator, a gourmet custom kitchen, a swanky bar area, gym, a movie theatre, a basketball court, an indoor and outdoor pool, and a full hair and makeup salon. Whoa!
As of Sunday, Kimye have already begun on their post-wedding vacay! Although we aren’t sure where the lovebirds have headed, we do know that their honeymoon is only going to last for four days. This is because the pair are expected to attend Kanye’s stylist’s wedding in Prague next weekend.
