Kate Middleton‘s taste in jewellery is a class above the rest!
The Duchess of Cambridge selected several pieces by New Zealand accessory line Tory & Ko during her tour of the country.
The brand’s designers, Victoria Taylor and Kirstin O’Brien, were requested to supply Middleton with four pieces of her selection after contacting Buckingham Palace via email.
“We followed up with the palace and they came back to us straight away saying, ‘We love your jewellery and we would love to select some pieces from your website.’ So they selected some specific pieces and we then sent them off,” O’Brien explained.
“They haven’t been paid for—we’ve just send them in the hope that the Duchess of Cambridge will wear them on her tour here in New Zealand.”
Ever since the news about Middleton’s interest in their jewellery got out, the two say they’ve been extremely swamped with requests.
Prince George‘s mama picked out these four items: a cultured pearl and diamond necklace in 18 ct. white gold, and matching earrings from the Bespoke Collection, a pair of blue topaz, gold and silver bow earrings, and a pair of similar citrine bow earrings from the Pretty Collection.
The Pretty Collection earrings cost about $600 each, while the Bespoke pieces are “price on request.”
“They were very specific about what they wanted us to send,” Taylor said.
“We had originally suggested in our introduction email that we were bespoke jewellers in New Zealand, we would be honoured for her to even consider wearing any of our jewellery and gave a few options of selections that we felt might be fitting.”
She added, “However, they came back and she had selected quite different pieces—which are all beautiful.”
Obviously, they are!
