A stylish affair awaited guests attending Starhill Gallery Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 during a three-day fashion parade which took place at none other than Starhill Gallery on Friday, 4th April until Sunday, 6th April.
The glamorous event, in partnership with BluInc magazines; Glam, Icon and Marie Claire together with supporting partners Chandon and Belvedere Vodka was attended by many guests and high profile attendees from the media.
Some of the biggest labels in the fashion industry took to the catwalk, including international designers Valentino, Kenzo, M Missoni, McQ by Alexander McQueen, RED Valentino, Khoon Hooi and creations from the designers of Debenhams.
Sleek silhouettes and fluorescent colours were predominant in Valentino’s latest collection while California cool was the inspiration for Kenzo’s collection, with its soft classic tailoring, embroidered crop tops and hand-drawn aqua motifs. On the other hand, sub-Saharan Africa came alive in M Missoni’s bright standout collection.
McQ by Alexander McQueen stunned the crowd with its rebellious-meets-effortless collection of metallic, reptile, mirrored lace and digital kaleidoscope crocodile prints. RED Valentino’s trademark whimsical elegance was defined with crocheted knits, eccentric bows in icy pastels and hints of pink while Khoon Hooi’s latest collection, inspired by 1960s model Edie Sedgwick, combined youthfulness and charm with accentuated waists, fitted blouses and monotone stripes.
Guests were invited to watch an exclusive designer hair demonstration from Hair Stylist Dick Chin, Salon Director of Starhill Gallery’s very own Dick Chin Hair Gallery, after being pampered with a nail treatment at BMIC Nail Spa Salon. Delighted guests received a souvenir photo from one of two photo booths before indulging in unlimited confectionery in the form of candy floss, popcorn and chocolate fondue.
Guests were then treated to DJ entertainment from one of Malaysia’s most sought after female DJ’s, DJane Geri. Guests were able to take full advantage of the free flow Chandon sparkling wine and Belvedere Vodka beverages paired exclusively with Michelin-star trained Chef Matthew Ona’s tempting canapés and desserts.
The opening night featured extended boutique opening hours until 11pm, special in-store promotions and exciting giveaways. On the 4th and 5th of April 2014 visitors to Starhill Gallery received exclusive in-store privileges in all of Niche Retailing’s boutiques; Valentino, Sergio Rossi, Kenzo, M Missoni, McQ by Alexander McQueen, RED Valentino, LEO and Antoinette.
The first ten lucky guests to walk into M Missoni’s boutique on the 4th of April were rewarded with an exclusive door gift while guests who purchased from boutiques McQ by Alexander McQueen, Damiani, Kenzo, Sincere Fine Watches and Red Valentino during Starhill Gallery Fashion Week were given exclusive complimentary gifts in-store.
Luxury boutiques Bedat & Co., Khronos and Omega both offered customers special privileges and complimentary gifts with purchase and fans of Khoon Hooi received 20% off selected items. Aside from that, generous discounts were provided at Debenhams and Shiatzy Chen gave shoppers the chance to win great mystery prizes via their exclusive “Love Dip” giveaway.
In another exciting giveaway, Sephora treated the first 50 guests who registered in store on the 4th of April with a RM100 Sephora gift voucher with the additional privilege of 10% off its Sephora Private Label.
The spectacular event upheld Starhill Gallery’s status as Malaysia’s luxury shopping destination with its exclusive boutiques, international designer collections and fashionable society events.
