Yikes! Selena Gomez got served yesterday and yes, you’re right. It had to do with one of the lawsuits against Justin Bieber.
The poor girl was served in connection with the Jose Duran case, in which a paparazzo is suing the pop crooner, Bieber, for allegedly attacking him in the parking lot of The Commons, a posh shopping mall in Calabasas, California, in front of his then girlfriend, Gomez, in May 2012.
“Selena has been ordered to appear on April 23, 2014, to be deposed in Los Angeles,” a source exclusively confirms with E! News.
Selena will be questioned regarding “anything she observed before, during, and after the May 2012 incident with Duran and Bieber.”
The “Come and Get It” singer will also be answering questions regarding anything she may have heard about the incident after the occurrence.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department investigated the fight at the time but chose not to file criminal charges against anyone involved. Duran then filed a civil suit in June last year.
Besides that, other topics on the table include her “relationship with Justin, then and now,” “if she ever witnessed any use of Justin taking controlled substances” and “if she had seen any episodes of violence or anger involving Justin,” the source added.
Gomez will also be asked about “conversations she had with Justin concerning the Duran episode and any other legal proceedings.”
Additionally, just because this case is separate from the lawsuit Bieber is facing in Miami, Gomez will be asked about his deposition in Florida, the one he walked out on when the plaintiff’s lawyer questioned him about his ex.
Bieber is also expected to be subpoenaed for deposition in the Duran case two to three months from now and they intend to videotape Gomez’s deposition.
