It was started by filmmaker Lina Esco in 2012, when she made a film with the same title surrounding the message of equality. The #FreeTheNipple hashtag quickly spread across the internet, spawning the Free the Nipple movement we see today. Why is it acceptable for men to go topless, yet women’s breasts are sexualized? This movement has certainly garnered a huge amount of support over the years, and many celebs have contributed to this campaign of gender equality. Kylie recently shared a photo of her wearing a bikini top with some nipple prints on it, with the caption “free the nipple”! She’s already had numerous free the nipple moments throughout the years, so it’s no surprise that she would drop another iconic nipple moment on her IG. Were some people offended? Of course. But does she care? Hell nah!
Miley Cyrus
It’s no surprise that the good girl gone bad freed the nipple on countless occasions throughout the years. Amber Rose showed her support in the #FreeTheNipple movement by posting this stunning photo on Twitter with the campaign hashtag, as well as the #AmberRoseSlutWalk2016 hashtag. Plus, during Kim Kardashian’s naked selfie controversy, she wrote in her Instagram post, “If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off, that’s none of your business or anyone else’s”. PERIODT!
