Her participation in an Australian DJ training program shot her to stardom and ever since, she’s been an indisputable icon in the Australian electronic music scene. Meet DJ Tigerlily, Sydney’s hottest new female DJ who’s crowned The Mix‘s Australian #1 Female DJ and spins electrifying sounds, leaving her in a league of her own. Adding on to her already solid profile include performing at some of the biggest festival jams like Stereosonic, Creamfields and Future Music, as well as winning the ear of one of the world’s most popular DJs, Tiesto, and joining him on his Asian Club Life tour.

With her talent and online presence on social media, her fan base has been growing tremendously and many more people worldwide are getting exposed to her music.
We also got the opportunity to interview the bubbly and rainbow-haired DJ herself, so read on to know more about her!
1. How has your experience been so far, after becoming the first runner-up of “Your Shot”?
My participation in Your Shot was definitely one of the most positive and life changing things I’ve ever done. After being accepted through an interview process into the Top 72, I began a 6 week DJ training program which taught me all the basic skills of being a DJ. From there, I put together a 25 minute set which I performed to a crowd of family and friends at the Greenwood Hotel! Needless to say I was ridiculously nervous, and shaking like crazy… But I made it through and ended up taking out second prize! Your Shot opened up lots of doors for me in the music industry and gave me absolutely priceless experience which has really helped me navigate my way through the musical journey I’m on…The rest is history I suppose.
2. What would you say is your personal stamp when it comes to making new sounds?
For me, it’s all about having fun with the music and letting your personality shine through. For my first single “Zombie”, it took a long time to finally get the track to a point where I was happy to release it! I don’t want to be writing music just to sell records, I want to be writing music that I’m passionate about…music that is able to convey emotions and tell a story to the audience.
3. Any future collaborations with other popular DJs/artists?
At the moment I have a collaboration coming out in February with German duo ‘2less’ on Australian label OneLove. As well as that I’ve been working in the studio with other artists on some possible collaborations as well as my own originals and remixes. This year is going to be a big year with hopefully lots of releases and I’m very excited to tell everyone a lot more when the time is right!
4. You’ve toured with DJ Tiesto. How would you describe that experience?
The whole tour with Tiesto was an absolute whirlwind full of amazing shows, tequila shots, early morning flights, laughter and good company. It was such a fun and inspirational week! I was honoured to be able to share the stage with world class acts, and it definitely opened my eyes up to the amazing possibilities that the world of dance music holds.
5. Can you share which artists/tracks you’re currently obsessed with?
There is so much great music being produced and released at the moment! It’s fantastic because it means that my performances can always be dynamic and different. At the moment I’m loving the new collaboration between Peking Duk and Laidback Luke called “Mufasa”, as well as SCNDL’s “40 Thieves” and Tiesto’s “Red Lights”. Also, if you haven’t heard mine and Dem Slackers new remix of “All Of Me” by John Legend you should definitely head over to my Soundcloud account to have a listen to that!
