Don’t drink and drive, that’s the rule.
Star Trek actor Chris Pine has been arrested for driving under the influence in New Zealand. The 33-year-old actor was pulled over on March 1st after a wrap party for Z for Zachariah.
New Zealand Police said in a statement that a 33-year-old American was charged on March 1st for driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, which is .08 percent. The identity of the man was not revealed but police said that he was stopped during a routine early morning check near the South Island town of Methven: “Given that the matter is now before the court police will not be releasing any further information.”
Methven’s Blue Pub manager Casey Crawford told The Press that the actor was celebrating on the night of February 28th with his co-stars and was joined by his Icelandic beauty queen girlfriend, Iris Bjork Johannesdottir.
He told the newspaper that Pine was drinking beer and did not appear intoxicated before leaving around 2.30am. “Chris was really good. They were a good crowd, the whole lot of them,” Crawford added.
The pub manager also said that transportation was provided for patrons; he is unsure why Pine decided to drive.
The actor has been in New Zealand filming Z for Zachariah alongside The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie and 12 Years a Slave‘s, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
