The new Annie trailer is finally here!
In this remake of the classic Broadway musical-turned-classic movie musical, Cameron Diaz stars as the jaded, yet comically snarky Miss Hannigan who manages the orphanage where Annie lives.
But Annie, played by 10-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis, won’t be staying there much longer after running into billionaire Benjamin Stacks, played by Jamie Foxx.
Stacks is a wealthy politician who thinks being seen with a Harlem foster kid will further his mayoral campaign. Tired of Miss Hannigan, Annie offers to help him get all the way to the White House, quipping, “I bet if I moved in with you, you’d become president.”
So, her journey begins as she gets a taste of the good life and softens Stacks’ jaded heart.
Annie promises a heart-warming ride that will keep you laughing and moving along to the music, even when some shady figures show up to claim the lucrative reward being offered in the quest to find Annie’s real parents.
“Sometimes what you’re looking for is right in front of your face,” Foxx reminds us.
The movie is slated to be released on Christmas day this year. We’re so excited!
