A tourist guide was shot to death on Monday, February 24th at Jalan Klang Lama.
S. Devananthan, 27, was shot twice shortly after his arrival at a restaurant in Jalan Klang Lama with a friend.
Chief Assistant Commissioner of City Criminal Investigations Department, Khairy Ahrasa, said the victim was picked up earlier by his friend from his home nearby to go for a drink at the restaurant there.
“When they arrived at the incident location, a Proton Saga rammed their car from behind before four men disembarked. One of the men then shouted at the victim, saying that he should be chopped up. Hearing this, the victim exited the Proton Wira and tried to run away, when three shots were fired towards him,” he told reporters.
Khairy said the victim’s friends, who were eating at the restaurant, rushed him to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. He also said that police investigations discovered that the assailants had targeted the victim and they are investigating the motive.
Two suspects – a woman in her 30s who owns the Proton Wira and the victim’s friend who drove it have been picked up by the police. Khairi also said they have identified one of the suspects, and a special task force is investigating the case.
