A 20-year-old woman was left traumatised after she experienced a horrifying taxi ride when the driver forced her to fondle him during her ride home. It is learnt that the unnamed woman, a call centre employee, boarded a taxi near Jalan Metro Prima, Kepong at around 7pm on January 28th. She sat in the front seat and began feeling uncomfortable when the taxi driver started making lecherous comments at her.
The driver, believed to be in his 70s, had allegedly rubbed her thigh while spitting out vulgarities. He had also placed a knife on the dashboard of the car. The taxi driver then allegedly grabbed her hand and placed it on his private parts.
She attempted to pull her hand away but the driver wielded the knife and threatened to hurt her if she refused to do as she was told. Her horrifying ride ended when they got to her house, where the driver threatened her to keep her silent over the incident.
The driver finally let the woman go without charging her for the ride.
CID chief Asst Comm, Khairi Ahrasa confirms that the police have received the report and said the case was being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage modesty.
“We are doing our best to track down the culprit,” said ACP Khairi.
