“Juno” who just came out?
Ellen Page, the actress who won the hearts of movie buffs for her role as Juno, the pregnant teenager in 2007, has openly come out as gay.
The 26-year-old actress made the announcement on Friday and told a Las Vegas audience, “I am here today because I am gay,” at a conference of counsellors who work with teenagers who are lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual or queer (LGBT).
Ellen said she suffered for years because she was afraid to come out. “I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain,” she told the audience.
She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Juno and she’s also had major roles in X-Men: The Last Stand and Inception.
Celebrities took to Twitter to share their love and support for Ellen’s bold move.
