It’s not fashion without a little bit of drama.
It seems like fashion week can barely exist without any drama nowadays! Last season, there was Dolce’s bum-flash and Nina Ricci’s anti-fur topless protest. This season, Prabal Gurung’s carefully planned fashion show was rudely interrupted by a prankster wearing a black gown, leopard print thong, football socks, sneakers and a crown. The streaker was swiftly removed from the catwalk by security – but not before gaining his 15 seconds of fame.
“What can you do?,” Gurung told WWD post-show. “Would I have liked it to be seamless? Yes. I hope he got his 15 seconds and I hope he got some pleasure out of it, I really do. And that’s all I can ask for.” And, proving that fashion has a sense of humour, the designer and his friends all turned up to his after party wearing crowns.
The streaker was identified as Ukranian actor, Vitali Sediuk. He is most known for giving Madonna a bunch of hydrangeas, which are her most hated flowers, he surprised Leonardo DiCaprio by hugging him on the red carpet during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and he was infamously slapped by Will Smith for trying to kiss him on the lips at the Russian premiere of MIB3!
