Start your night by choosing between the prawn cocktail and fresh salmon sashimi platter. The prawn cocktails features deep fried prawns arranged in the shape of a heart and is served in a martini glass with a bed of avocado salad. Paired with homemade thousand island sauce, the dish is filled with savoury flavours that will get you all set for the next course. Arranged to resemble a rose, the salmon sashimi is light and pleasantly fresh. Served with soy sauce and wasabi, Signature @ The Roof is generous with its portion, perfect for fans of raw fish!
The menu follows with French onion soup which is simply delightful! A thick and substantial piece of golden cheese sits on top of a luscious broth of onion soup which, if you dig in to, will lead you to a pool of onions. A little too sweet on its own, the saltiness of the cheese is the is the perfect save to this dish.
The wild black cod was one of main entrées. Lightly sautéed, leaving a beautiful brown shade on its skin, the fish was fluffy and tender. Served on a bed of stir-fried spinach cooked in salt and garlic accompanied by salsa, the wild black cod was a dish that had flavours bursting in your mouth with every bite. Cooked to perfection, the wild black cod was our personal favourite.
Grilled lamb rack is an alternative for those who prefer meat over fish. Grilled to its finest, the meat is tender and juicy and is served with mint sauce, making it an explosive blend of smokey and lively flavours that will leave you nothing but satisfied. Another option for meat would be the Wagyu beef that is served with a giant-prawn cooked in an alluring five-flavour sauce making this dish the perfect surf and turf option. A mixture of flavours creates an interesting combination between the Western styled beef and oriental styled prawn. The beef is best had medium rare or medium to avoid it being too chewy and dry.
The meal set ends with no other than desserts, of course. Featuring three different kinds of sweets; The Romeo & Juliet stole the limelight of the desserts that night. A stick of oats accompanied by white chocolate and complemented with fresh blueberries and strawberries – the sweetness with a burst of sour notes just screamed perfection! The dessert plater is completed with a lemon tart and cookie crumble and a chocolate heart.
