6. Lai Po Heen, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jalan Pinang
Lai Po Heen is famous for its modern Cantonese cuisine set in a restaurant with an open kitchen. It’s helmed by Ricky Thein, an award winning chef, and is opened for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner. Be prepared to fork out a bit more for the food here, though!

Established over 30 years ago, Overseas Restaurant is famous for its Char Siew (barbecued pork) and Roast Pork. It can get pretty crowded during lunch and dinner hours.
10. Restoran Sek Yuen, Jalan Pudu
This no-frills Cantonese restaurant is family-owned and is well known for its food that is cooked on firewood stoves. Although traditionally decorated, quality of dishes have good ratings from reviewers.
