Dolce & Gabbana recently launched their new print advertising campaign for The One and The One for Men fragrances. The campaign was set in timeless locations from Hollywood to Cinecittà, brought to life through the expert eye of photographer Peter Lindbergh, starring Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey.
Lindbergh, a master of black and white imagery and long-standing photographer for leading publications around the world, recreated a film set on a secluded beach on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The campaign sees Scarlett and Matthew backstage, surrounded by spotlights, recreating a scene that has striking parallel to their own lives.
“The shots taken for the campaign bring out the natural ease and beauty of the actors in a way that only Peter Lindbergh can,” say Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The creative conjures images of Federico Fellini, his White Sheiks, the bon vivants of La Dolce Vita and its enchanting leading ladies. It is a tribute to the golden years of Italian cinema, with Scarlett and Matthew evoking 21st century incarnations of Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni.
Martin Scorsese and Dolce & Gabbana also celebrate these two iconic scents with sixty seconds of unforgettable film. Street of Dreams is an epic story of the power of love and dreams, as well as a story of unbridled emotion. Its classic cinematic style evokes both the grandeur of the golden years of Hollywood, and the passion and emotion of Europe’s greatest cinema icons. Scorcese’s campaign tells a tale of timeless glamour through its two protagonists, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson. Their intensity is unmistakable as they come together on the streets of New York.
