2014 is approaching tomorrow and couples are racing to make the most out of the upcoming new year parties. But before you turn yourself into the New Year’s equivalent of a bridezilla, here are six tips to help you celebrate the New Year as a stronger, happier couple.

1. Don’t plan too much
New year parties will come in abundance in the month of January, and you might also want to celebrate the fact that  your relationship is progressing into another year. While you might not want to miss out on any party invitations, go easy on the scheduling. You really don’t want to be stressed out during the first month of the new year.

2. Focus on being together
If your boyfriend doesn’t feel like celebrating too much, you should work on a compromise. You don’t have to accept every party invitation, and you can also plan a romantic dinner just for the two of you.

3. Try something new
Both you and your boyfriend should think up of something new for the both of you try. Whether it’s a new hobby, a new position for the bedroom, or a new look, learn to support your partner and cherish the new changes you both are about to face. It’s meant to be challenging, but sticking by each other’s side even before the New Year means that you’re stepping into the New Year stronger and more in love.

4. Share your favorite 2013 memories
While many advise not to dwell in the past, it’s not a bad thing to look back and remember the best moments you’ve had in the year. It can be a hilarious conversation you’ve had with a friend, welcoming new family members, or even that special day when you first met your man. These moments may not be major achievements, but they still make up for how your year turned out. Both you and your boyfriend should share these memories as its important for couples to know what each of them find important in their lives.

5. Create a New Year’s resolutions list for couples
A new year calls for new beginnings. To make 2014 work for you as a couple, you can first start off by creating a resolutions list for the both of you as a couple. Perhaps it’s to spend more time with each other without spending much, or find a new apartment together, a lot of these plans can be resolutions that the both of you can work on together.
