It’s a tragic loss for the world of EDM as a fellow member from Bingo Players, Paul Bäumer dies, months after he was diagnosed with cancer. The news was confirmed by Maarten Hoogstraten, a fellow member of the dynamic duo on Facebook. His post reads:
Maarten Hoogstraten also cancelled all their upcoming gigs to take time off to mourn with his family and friends for Bäumer’s death. Fans and a long list of DJs including Steve Aoki, DJ Pauly D, Kaskade, Afrojack and EDM superstars from all over the world are also in mourning.
MTV reported Bäumer’s statement when he was diagnosed with cancer in July and it that reads:
“As some of you may know, I have been in the hospital over the past few weeks and I have not been at some of the recent shows while seeking medical treatment. I now have the results back and I wanted to let you know that I have been diagnosed with cancer.”
Despite the cancer, Bäumer remained committed to Bingo Players and his love for music by continuing his work in the studio as well as taking the lead in running Hysteria Radio while receiving his medical treatments.
It has been a success for the Dutch duo as they recorded their first No. 1 single “Get Up (Rattle)” in the U.K. earlier this year. The popular EDM DJs were also ranked 66th in DJ Mag’s “Top 100 DJs” list for 2012.
Here are two famous hits from the Dutch duo:
