Describe your personal style – If I have to define my ideal style, it would be a mix of feminine and edgy. Dressing up can be an empowering act, so I admire inspiring “modern” ladies like Sarah Jessica Parker and Leighton Meester who aren’t afraid to pull off a statement dress and have fun while they’re at it! Besides style, I think it’s even more important to understand your body shape. For a petite person like me, I can wear short shorts but I can never rock peplum. Know it before you flaunt it!

Fuschia bustier crop top – Forever New, Black cardigan – Korea, Black chiffon high-low skirt – Supre, Red flats – Rubi
Your thoughts on the fashion scene in Kuala Lumpur – I think we Malaysians are blessed to have a great variety of shopping choices especially in terms of international brands. As a multicultural society, it is refreshing to see how people would mix and match due to different background influences. Also thanks to technology and the Internet, we are more connected nowadays to fashion trends around the world, thus emerging as truly unique cosmopolitan individuals.

Fuschia knit beanie – Rubi, Pink basic tank top – Topshop, White chiffon shirt – Bangkok, Denim shorts with pink embroidery details – Valleygirl, Coral peep-toe pumps – London Rebel
Your favourite places to shop – I love high-street fashion labels like Topshop, Zara and H&M – they are trendy and affordable especially for young people who like to experiment with different styles each season. As I’m currently studying in Melbourne, I would also recommend some of my favourite Australian labels like Cotton On, Supre, Dotti, Mink Pink and Forever New (don’t forget, there’s always online-shopping!). Finally, I believe it’s important to invest in a few key designer pieces (like Guess, Armani etc. – depends on your budget and needs) which can be more costly but with better quality that can last for years!
