The end of the year is getting close and we all probably have our party dresses ready to go, but here’s comes the next important question – How should I wear my make-up?
There’s no need to panic because we’ve narrowed down a list of make-up looks from the red carpet, the runway and other make-up trendsetters to give you the ultimate make-up guide for the Holiday 2013 season!
Contoured Cheek Bones
Take the retro route and show off those lovely cheekbones. After applying a rosy blusher on the apples of your cheeks, contour your jaw and the hollow of your cheeks with a slightly shimmery bronzer. Then dust some highlighter on your cheekbones and blend in the bronzer.
Glossy Fuchsia Lips
Take cue from Revlon’s Evening Opulence Collection that combines rich luxury and bold glamour. Skip the classic red lip and go for something more youthful like fuchsia or magenta lip gloss. Add drama to the eyes with jewel-toned eyeshadows like amethyst or emerald.
Golden Eye
Glitter and bright red lips have always been a holiday make-up staple. This year, opt for something more low maintenance that will still make you the fanciest of the lot – gold metallic eyeliner. Start by lining your eyes with a basic black kohl, and dust a layer of champagne-hued eyeshadow over the eyelid. Contour the outer corners with a shade of brown and then apply gold eyeliner from the inner corners to the middle of the eyelid. Blend a dark brown eyeliner to form a slight cat-flick.
Purples and Plums
If you want something sophisticated to go with your neutral-hued clothing, let your eyes and lips do the drama. Drench your lips in a glossy plum lipstick and leave give your eyes a pop of color with bright purple eyeshadow. Stick to a matte shade so that it doesn’t appear too much.
Starry, Starry Eyes
Thakoon’s FW 2013 eye make-up look is extremely close to our hearts as it was both romantic and mysterious. Combining rich shades of blue and multi-colored glitter, the look is said to reflect the contrast between winter and summer. For a full tutorial, click here.
Bright Statement Lips
Stray away from festive colors and try something more memorable like bright-colored lips! For something with a big pop, citrine and orange hues brighten up your face. Groom your brows, add a coat of mascara, and tie your hair back into a messy bun. If you have medium to dark skin tone, cool down the undertones with a purple shade of lipstick. Keep eye make-up bare, or bedazzle with gold eyeliner.
