Japan’s Takashi Murakami is no unknown figure: an internationally renowned contemporary artist and a leading icon in Tokyo’s exploding art scene, he’s also the director of upcoming animation series 6HP (Six Hearts Princess) that was first previewed in 2010 at the ‘Murakami Versailles’ exhibition in France.
For its 17th artist collaboration series, beauty brand shu uemura has chosen to work with the talented Takashi Murakami to create limited edition designs this holiday season. Murakami has taken inspiration from his own 6HP series that centre around magical ‘majokko’ (witch girls) and explore the themes of feminine desires and of a parallel universe. The result of this collaboration is an attractive, magical one: exclusive packagings feature pink and black princesses and their magic mascots to symbolize the dual desires in every woman to be both nice, innocent but also sexy and naughty.
There will be a range of limited edition cosmetic items as well accessories in the Takashi Murakami x shu uemura Holiday 2013 collection, from palettes to brush sets, as well as a personal Lipstiq.com favourite – the premium make-up box that opens to an eye-catching inner design.
