[BREAKING] “Fast & Furious” Star Paul Walker Dies in Car Accident

TMZ has just confirmed that Paul Walker, lead actor in the Fast and the Furious film franchise, had died on Saturday in Santa Clarita.

The 40-year-old actor was reported to have died in a single car accident that resulted in an explosion in Los Angeles. Multiple sources claimed that Walker was driving a Porsche when he somehow lost control and slammed into a post or a tree, and then his car burst into flames.

Walker, who was the passenger in the car which was driven by a friend. The two had just returned from a charity event.

In a statement on Paul Walker’s Facebook page:

It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide.
He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We… are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.

Vin Diesel, Walker’s colleague on Fast and Furious films, also sent out his condolences via Instagram:

Walker had been filming Fast and the Furious 7 with director James Wan. The film was slated to be released in summer 2014.
