A Chinese iPhone thief did the most unusual thing and wrote down 11 pages worth of nearly 1,000 contacts and gave them to the owner of the mobile phone.
The owner, Zou Bin lost almost 1,000 contacts upon discovering that his mobile phone was missing in the central province of Hunan after he shared a cab with the thief. According to the state media, he was more concerned about his contacts rather than the phone and he sent a text message to the thief, saying:
“I know you are the man who sat beside me. I can assure you that I will find you. Look through the contact numbers in my mobile and you will know what trade I am in. Send me back the phone to the address below if you are sensible.”
Zou Bin works in the pub industry and is linked to a wide circle of gangs. He received a parcel containing his SIM card as well as the 11 pages worth of hand-written contacts a few days later.
“It would take a while to write from one to one thousand, let alone names and a whole string of digits,” said Zou Bin. “I suppose (the thief’s) hand is swelling,” he added.
