It seemed like just yesterday that “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” hit silver screens worldwide in 2002. Slightly less than a decade later, it ends with a two-part extraordinary cinematic achievement. Growing stronger with each installment of the sensational book-turned-movie, the audience was kept on the edge of their seats during the colossal end of the series.
“It All Ends Here”, it says. And so it does.
Throughout the years, we’ve watched the “Harry Potter” kids grow up and blossom into fine, young adults and for one girl (Emma Watson, better known as Hermione Granger), a fine, young woman. In this final episode, the trio (Harry, Hermione, and Ron) continue on their journey to seek and destroy the “horcruxes” that the menacing “HeWhoShallNotBeNamed” a.k.a Lord Voldemort needs to live forever. This movie is also where all the forces of good of Hogwarts finally come together during the final showdown with Voldemort and his entourage of Death Eaters.
This time around, the plot has a lot more action and dare we say, is a lot more adult – with powerful scenes comparatively to the movies before. Each scene would grip you and move you to heightened levels as you walk with the trio through their adventure, in J.K. Rowling’s monumental make believe world of magic.
Entertaining, charming, and dare we say, enchanting, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” ends with a big bang, and a bittersweet goodbye.
