Today is Universal Children’s Day! This occasion is part of the global work carried out by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and was established in 1954. This special day is also celebrated worldwide on November 20th annually to promote international togetherness and awareness among children.
According to the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, many schools and institutions around the world should make an effort to inform children of their rights.
UNICEF also pointed out that children are still being neglected, abused, exploited and violated globally. Therefore, this year’s Universal Children’s Day theme is, ‘Stop Violence Against Children’.
