Fruits You Should Eat For Better Skin

Beautiful skin starts with nourishment from within, and with a steady supply of nutrients these fruits, you’re sure to see that your skin remains soft, supple and blemish-free. Here are five vital fruits for flawless, healthy skin:

Citrus Fruits
Free radicals accumulate in your skin and visibly age your skin faster. Vitamin C in citrus fruits benefit the skin by boosting collagen production, repairing tissues and protecting your skin from free radicals. Great sources of vitamin C include are fruits like lemon and oranges, but it’s also found in kiwis, strawberries and cantaloupe. To enjoy the Vitamin C benefits from an orange, rub the insides of an orange on your skin to firm and tighten your skin. Orange fruit and skin can also be dried and powdered to be used as a natural scrub. Lemon juice also works great as a powerful skin cleanser, and its astringent properties can even be used to lighten your skin tone and diminish acne scars.

Avocado
Avocado comes with an incredibly rich and creamy texture that transfers its moist goodness on to your skin. Avocados are rich in antioxidant vitamin E that helps deactivate free radicals in your skin. Furthermore, the niacin and mono-unsaturated fatty acids found in avocado nourishes the skin while maintaining cell structure and function. Give your skin the ultimate avocado treatment by mashing a fresh avocado with a tablespoon of olive oil. Apply it all over your face and neck, and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse and pat dry.

Berries and Plums
Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums are known for their high antioxidant content, and their antioxidant capacity helps you slow down the aging process as it heals the skin from within.
Apart from consuming these delicious fruits orally, you can also use them as a face mask. Crush 8 strawberries into a pulp and mix with one tablespoon of yogurt, then apply the mask on your face for 20 minutes and rinse.

Papayas
If you suffer from skin troubles like acne or irritation, you’ll be happy to know that this sweet tropical fruit offers amazing antioxidant benefits, hydration, and contains a special enzyme called papain that kills dead cells and cure skin impurities. This helps with any bacterial infections or acne infections. Furthermore, the vitamin C in papayas helps the body produce more collagen for firmness. To treat your skin with the goodness of papaya, just apply papaya pulp on your face and neck for 20 minutes and wash with cool water. You can also combine the mixture with honey and milk for deeper hydration.

Tomatoes
TOmatoes contain lycopene, an antioxidant that gives fruits and vegetables their rich yellow, red or orange dues. Other fruits that contain lycopene includes watermelon, pink grapefruit and guava. Furthermore, tomatoes are also good for your skin as they can reduce blemishes and blackheads, while evening out your skin tone and shrink pores. Mix tomato pulp with a tablespoon of oatmeal and lemon juice and apply it on your skin for 20 minutes. Rinse off and repeat three times a week.
