Did you watch the first ever YouTube Music Awards through their live stream?

For its inaugural Music Awards, YouTube has allowed music-video fans to choose winners of the Awards for these six categories: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Response of the Year, YouTube Phenomenon, YouTube Breakthrough and Innovation of the Year. Fans across the world have voted by sharing the official YTMA nomination videos via Facebook, Twitter and Google+. The voting kicked off on October 21 and the final tallies were taken right before the show.

The Awards show also featured live performances by Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Avicii, M.I.A., Tyler the Creator and many more. However, most of these performances were staged as “live music videos” with actors instead of the usual live performance presentations.
