Celebrities like Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevigne, Cat Power’s Chan Marshall have all made it to the list of Karl Lagerfeld’s muses. This time around, Karl has taken his Persian cat Choupette as the inspiration for his Holiday accessories collection.
Choupette is a gift from Chanel model and former muse Baptiste Giabiconi, and the cat has been deemed an important figure in the Chanel and Fendi designer’s life. Choupette even has her own maids and a personal Twitter account.
In June, Karl told CNN: “There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals… I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat.”
In honor of Choupette, the renowned fashion designer has designed a new holiday capsule collection for his Karl Lagerfeld brand that carries a feline touch. The collection will contain a range of accessories in Karl’s signature colors, black and white. Pieces include iPhone and iPad cases, scarves, bags, and also a Choupette-edition of Karl Lagerfeld’s famous fingerless leather gloves. Apart from that, one can also purchase a wool cap with leather whiskers, cat’s ears, and a leather tote bag.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette Holiday Accessories will be sold exclusively at Karl Lagerfeld stores in selected European and Asian cities on 12 November. Prices will range from US$60 to US$470.
