Getting your children to brush their teeth might be tricky sometimes but Colgate’s ‘Senyum Malaysia’ campaign has found a new way to educate children to fight cavities. The Colgate team has visited Tabika KEMAS kindergartners to reach out to children six years and below and to highlight the importance of oral health.
Colgate’s ‘Senyum Malaysia’ campaign was launched last month by Colgate-Palmolive Marketing Sdn Bhd with the support of Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat (KEMAS) from the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
The ‘Senyum Malaysia’ Squad went to the kindergartens equipped with teeth-friendly goodies and colourful edu-kits for kids. The squad demonstrated the correct method to hold a toothbrush as well as guides for making brushing a family fun time through many interactive activities.
In addition, Colgate’s mascots Dr. Rabbit and Dr. Brushwell were present to bring extra cheer to the crowd. The mascots also distributed ‘Senyum Malaysia’ educational brochures and sample kits of toothpaste and toothbrushes. This campaign has successfully reached over 400 Tabika KEMAS kindergartners.

She added, “The mouth is a gateway to superior oral health. Early childhood is the best time to start that learning journey as it is an investment to a cavity-free future. Colgate will continue to pioneer and support educating the young of our community on the importance of staying on this path.”
This campaign is part of Colgate’s effort to support the Ministry of Health’s National Oral Health Plan’s goal to reduce dental caries about 50% among young children at the age of six or below by the year 2020.
