There is nothing more satisfying than seeing children smile joyfully, especially when they are given a chance to bond with their parents. Erra Fazira’s Art Club was created especially to bring that smile on the faces of children as they put their sandbox creativity to light.
The idea of an Art Club was triggered when Erra Fazira watched her first born from the eyes of a mother. She realises that creativity is important to every person and recognise its potential in different fields especially problem solving. Since she grew up with STAEDTLER, as many in her generation have, she recognises and admire the quality of STAEDTLER products which are mostly produced in Germany, and made from PEFC-certified wood (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) that comes from sustainability managed forests.
According to Gerhard Wuestendoerfer, Chairman, Board of Directors, STAEDTLER Malaysia, this is the first time STAEDTLER has collaborated with anyone on an ongoing project. When Erra Fazira approached them with a passion for child development project, it was like hitting a jackpot as her vision and intentions were exactly what STAEDTLER is all about.
The erra art club members have been fully enjoying the privileges of their Erra Art Card which they obtain when they sign up. Recent events they’ve enjoyed include activities such as story-telling, magic shows, sing-along, art demos, drawing and colouring contests. The Christmas event at One Utama had choir singing, a clown dressed as Santa and even a marching band. Children from the Spastic Children Association of Selangor and Federal Territory (SCASFT) were invited as special guests to enjoy and participate in the erra art club Kids Funland. A donation from Erra Fazira-Staedtler fund was presented to SCASFT during that event.
Other excursions during the school holiday period have also been organised in order to cultivate parent-child relationships at fun colourful places. The erra art club will be at KLCC Petrosains on 1 May, and at FRIM on 11 June in conjunction with World Environment Day. On 3 September, the will be at Zoo Negara and 17 December, a special trip to the National Science Centre has been planned. STAEDTLER will be extending its support towards the excursions by providing food and beverage on each visit as well as travelling cost and accommodation for those coming from out of town.
In order to be part of the excursion program, members are required to purchase STAEDTLER products worth RM100 over a persiod of one year in a maximum of three receipts.
