No one likes to look into the mirror and see those bags staring right back at them in the morning or at any other time of the day. There are numerous reasons why we get eye bags, it can be either genetical or caused by an unhealthy or stressful lifestyle.
If you don’t want to opt for cosmetic surgery, you can still reduce the severity of your eye bags – here are a few suggestions that can make your eyes look healthier and livelier!
1. Practice a Healthy Lifestyle
Reduce on alcohol and salt intake as these two are the main donors to eye bags because they cause dehydration. Our body will naturally store water if we are experiencing dehydration.
2. Get Your “Beauty Sleep”
Sleep deprived causes eye bags too! I know we can’t live without staring at our computers, phones or television all day but we all need rest. At least our eyes need to rest. Take a break from all that and make sure you have enough sleep daily.
3. Sleeping on your back
Your sleeping position also plays an important role that contributes to your eye bags. Try sleeping on your back with fuller pillow place below your head. Fuller pillow can avoid fluid build up that causes noticeable eye bags.
4. No Liquid Intake 2 to 3 Hours Before Bedtime
Drinking liquid before sleep is not a good idea when you wake up with puffy eyes. The skin below the eye is very thin and fragile which will look puffy when there is fluid retention. This is a good habit to practice so that you don’t wake up getting stared back on the mirror by those puffs!
5. DIY Masks with Common Ingredients
In case you are allergic to chemicals, making your own masks helps to reduce the possibility of those allergies to react. Plus, you don’t need to spend on expensive facial treatment to reduce your eye bags!
