Feeling like you and your loved one aren’t talking as much anymore, or that intimacy between the two of you has been lacking lately? Romance in a relationship tends to decrease as time goes by, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t love him anymore or that you should break up. Here are 10 tips from us on how you can relight the passion in your relationship – try them out before making any decisions you might regret!
1. Plan a date night
If both of you are busy working during the week, set a date night during the weekend. Try out a new restaurant, and call them to book a table with a nice view and ask if it’s possible to have it some distance away from other diners – this way you can have a quiet conversation without any distractions.

6. Think about what he wants
Girls love to be pampered by their partners, but don’t forget that guys need some loving, too! He may seem a bit distant if he feels that you’re not paying him any attention. Make it a habit to share your activities with him, for example: if you want to spend a day with your friends without him, just tell him that you miss hanging out with your pals, but that you’d make it up to him by spending the next day doing what he likes.
Simple gestures like asking him how his day is going, or letting him watch a football match with his mates instead of accompanying you to go shopping will also make him feel that you’re considerate about his feelings.
7. Surprise him with little gifts or gestures
Make mental notes of what he loves, whether it’s a certain seasonal food or a video game that he’s been eyeing for a while – and surprise him with it! Trust us, girls are not the only ones who like receiving gifts! Imagine the joy you get whenever he surprises you with a bracelet or a necklace, he’d feel the same kind of joy if you get him that new GTA5 or FIFA14 game.
If you’re a bit tight with cash at the moment, go for ‘cheaper’ surprises like leaving notes for him in his pocket telling him to have a good day or that you’ll miss him (if he’s a goofball, funny messages would be more suitable).
8. Don’t be too stingy with PDA
There are people who are anti-PDA (Public Displays of Affection), but guys actually love it when you’re not shy about showing your love for him in front of people. No, you shouldn’t sit on his lap and attack him with french kisses when you’re out with friends, but instead give his hand a squeeze or a quick peck on the cheek. You can also think of physical gestures that mean something between the two of you, for example: three hand squeezes indicate ‘I Love You’ – it’s something comforting and intimate at the same time.
9. Handphones off!
Make it a rule that both your handphones should be switched off or put on silent when you’re out on dinner dates, or when it’s past 10pm. The buzzing of these gadgets can be annoying and distracting, and he might feel that you don’t value his time and presence if you keep on checking your phone. If you’re waiting for an important text or email, let him know in advance and make sure he understands why you have to keep it switched on. 10. Talk it out
Last but not least, the golden commandment to every successful relationship is communication. Your guy can’t read your mind, and you can’t read his, so if you think the relationship is getting stale and that you’ve done everything you can to improve it, ask him what’s bothering him. Talk things out and lay your cards on the table – when it comes to relationships, silence will never improve anything.
