The Nuffnang FoodFest 2013 is giving your average food exhibition a new take by combining social media in the blooming F&B industry in Malaysia!
The festival allows guests to empower social media by immersing themselves in tweeting live updates of the food experiences in exchange for a meal. Yes – just tweet and eat!
The inspiration behind this clever event is the absence of direct interactions between restaurant owners and customers.
Restaurants and cafes allocate enormous budgets towards their advertising and marketing in hope to build their customer database. However, through this method, there are ambiguity in its effectiveness and provides no platform for feedbacks whether they have reached their target market. Nuffnang believes social media is the revolutionary bridge between the supply and demand that fills this void.
Being one of the world’s leading community of bloggers, Nuffnang reports food bloggers as a significant percentage of active members in the community. As a result, Nuffnang conceptualized an event revolving around food. The event aims to further connect food brands to influential food enthusiasts who are active on social media.
“Although at Nuffnang our core focus still remains on the blogosphere, we wanted to create a strong community project in which members of the public could participate in. Using the tweets as a currency, each bite served by vendors is documented and watched by his/her social media followers. A little bite goes a long way” said Shahzeeq, who’s part of Nuffnang’s Community Relations team.
The Nuffnang FoodFest ultimately offers food junkies a slice of paradise, with a host of attractive activities like Food Blogging 101, Food Photography Workshop, Culinary Demonstration, and a Bloggers Cook-Off.
The Nuffnang FoodFest 2013 will take place on 5 October 2013 (Saturday) at the Blue Atrium outdoors of Sunway Pyramid.
