The judges who started it all return to mentor a new generation of music hopefuls on the 5th season of the Emmy-award nominated vocal talent show The Voice! Superstars Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green reunite with mainstays Blake Shelton and Adam Levine to recreate the signature chemistry that made the show a fan favorite and ratings success.
While away, Christina Aguilera made time for travel and her 5-year old. “I have to take breaks, stay connected with myself” She said, “I’m a mom. When I leave here I put on sweats and a T-shirt, I check out. I needed some time to do that. I am revived and renewed”. The well deserved R&R seems to have done her good because she’s looking hotter than ever from what we can see in the promos!
Cee Lo Green on the other hand, used his sabbatical to concentrate on his Las Vegas showcase “Cee Lo Green is Loberace” which garnered great reviews. “I missed everyone. I’m happy to be here” he said. Their return complements the ‘bromance’ between fan favorites Adam Levine and Blake Shelton which, according to promo videos, seems to be in full form this season – Blake even gives Adam a kiss to prove it! They will also be aiming to topple the country music star’s reign over the show – Blake having mentored 3 consecutive winners since season 2.
The Voice continues to be hosted by industry veteran Carson Daly who praised the returning judges for ‘not missing a beat’ and describes this season as the “best season yet”. With the return of the celebrity dream-team who started the show, we’ve got no reason to doubt that! Oh and in case you were wondering, last season’s all-star judges Usher and Shakira will be returning next season as the panel of judges goes up to 6! Can The Voice really get any better than that? We’ll be watching every episode of season 5 to find out!
