When it comes to make-up styles during fall, the keyword is to amp up on the drama! Inspired by the latest runway trends, we’re sharing the hottest make-up looks to channel this season! So time to bring out those dark oxblood lipsticks and some glitter, because things are about to get sparkly!
Starry Starry Eyes
This eye make-up look was quite probably inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s infamous Starry Starry Night – but this look, applied to the eyes is truly going to wow everyone around you. Start by applying bright blue or cobalt eyeshadow over the lids. Then combine black and dark blue shadow to make a little flick on the outer corners of the eye. Whip out the glitter flakes in a rose gold hue and start applying it bit by bit. If you don’t have glitter flakes, use a rose gold eyeshadow and apply gold pigments! Apply light bronze eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eye and don’t forget the black eyeliner on the upper eyelids.
Subtle Glitter Nails
Remember the early days when glitter nail polish was like the best thing to own in your nail polish collection? Well, it still is! At Jenny Packham, models kept their make-up clean and bare. While the nails were also just as subtle, a touch a gradient glitter was added just to make it fun without looking juvenile. Start with clean nails, apply a layer of base coat and keep applying glitter nail polish at the tip of the nails!
Violet Eyes
Forget wearing violet contact lenses to mesmerise! Like we said, fall is the perfect time for drama so why not make use of all those colored eyeshadows? Mix blue and purple eyeshadow together to create a vibrant shade of indigo. Before applying, prep eyes with eyeshadow primer and apply lilac eyeshadow around the inner corners of the eye, both upper and lower. Using a purple eyeliner, create a nice cat-eye shape on the upper eyelids. Then apply the luxurious shade of indigo on the lids. Grab a dark blue or dark purple shade to blend around the crease and place emphasis on the cat-eye. Use a little blue eyeshadow and play on the outer corners and underneath lower lashes.
Watermelon Pink Lips
Though bright pink lips may look more of a summer statement, what better way to add a touch of brightness to your deep fall look? Whether it’s a candy-pink hue or a juicy shade of magenta! As you’d do with bold lips, don’t forget to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying. Keep eye make-up clean, and eyebrows groomed! Open up those peepers with a lengthening mascara and a highlighter around the inner corners of the eye.
80s Glamor Punk
If there’s one thing the 80s punk movement thought us, is that you can go a long way with black eyeliner. Inspired by Joan Jett and Marianne Faithfull, the models at Marc Jacobs channeled asphalt gray eyes and the basic hues like black, brown and white. First, trace black eyeliner around the eye and blend with both brown and gray eye shadow. Then, using a white eyeliner, just draw a thick line around the inner rims of the eye.
