This Mid-Autumn Festival, Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant is celebrating the renowned festival from now to 19 September 2013, and guests can take away an elaborately designed jewelry box filled with delectable mooncakes.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Mooncake Festival, takes place each year on the 15th day of the 8th lunar calendar. Legend tells of Lady Chang and Hou Yi whose love was so great that when mortal wickedness threatened to tear them apart, their devotion for one another flourished even brighter than the brightest moon. Thus, the mooncake was given to Lady Chang from Hou Yi as a symbol of their love.
This year, Lady Chang is sharing her precious gifts of mooncake with guests who can take their pick from a variety of flavors that are bound to be just heavenly. Popular favourites and perennial bestsellers will also be making reappearances at Toh Yuen this Mid-Autumn Festival. Traditionally baked mooncake favorites such as white lotus paste with single yolk, green tea paste with single yolk, red bean paste with sunflower seeds, five nuts, lotus paste with double yolk and pandan paste with single yolk will be offered.
Toh Yuen’s mooncakes are sold individually, in pairs or in combinations. Packed in a mooncake box designed to look like one of Lady Chang’s jewelry boxes,
they’re available daily at the hotel’s Main Lobby Mooncake Counter from now to 19 September 2013. Individual pieces of mooncakes are priced between RM22.00++.
All mooncakes served and sold are halal.
