Would you let your kids play with your iPad? I wouldn’t, not in a million years and not even over my dead body if I’m dead by then, but if you’re so much kinder than me (which shouldn’t be too hard), here’s a toy that turns your iPad into a tracing desk. With an iPad fitted inside the Griffin LightBoard, all you have to do is lay a transparent plastic sheet on the top to protect your display, lay a piece of paper over that, and your kid can easily trace out drawings and colour them in later. I know, you can do what I did years ago – use a transparent plastic folder, put lights underneath it, close the lid, place something to trace on top and a sheet of empty paper over that and voila! You have your own tracing board. That’s the more economical way of doing it during my time back then when mobile phones were not even available yet, but nowadays, even children are holding more sophisticated gadgets than me! The board comes with a free app that features 35 tracing patterns, animations and even a game that teaches kids how to write their names. So cute, but then again, will I let my kids near my future iPad? NO!
